Hi Jules, thank you for the fascinating history lesson. It made me get out the highlighter (my finger) more than for any other article.

I’m disgusted, frankly. I suppose that those who believe they belong in power see anything good as proof of heaven’s mandate, and then become selfish of it, hoping to secure their place in the natural order.

Anyone spending time in drug-laden, rural America should also come to the conclusion that taking psychedelics does not make one liberal. There are some tripped out rednecks out there.

If you don’t have designs on a more established publication for this article, I’d be honored to have it at LIMINARIES, which is for stories about unconventional experiences and thoughts that arise at the blurred borders between seemingly contradictory topics and disciplines, in this case, conservative politics and psychedelic culture. Either way, thanks for the excellent read.
